Wake up to warmth and protection on those cold winter mornings
(For 1 serving)
Ingredients
2 cups of oat milk
2 heaped tablespoons of organic cut oats (or use rolled oats and quick pulse blend them – this helps to make creamier porridge)
1 tablespoon of desiccated coconut
1 spoonful of honey
Half a teaspoon of turmeric
Sprinkle of chia seeds
Berries
Method
Place the milk in a pan on a medium to high heat, add the oats and turmeric (can replace this with cardamom for a different flavour). Cook and stir for 5 mins, then lower the heat to simmer for 10 minutes; you can add more milk if it gets too thick (don’t be tempted to add more oats; this will thicken as it cools)
Remove from heat and add the coconut, honey and seeds; if too thick, add more milk. Place in a bowl and add the berries; you can drizzle a little more honey if it needs to be sweeter or add some dates.
Option: Add flax oil to increase omega3 and make even creamier
