Trotters opened their doors on Kings road in 1990. Thirty three years later, Trotters is all about children, making the shopping, hairdressing and shoe fitting experience fun for their little customers and therefore for their parents.
Sophie’s journey began when she recognised a glaring void for childrenswear and all around services dedicated to them. She kept looking for a place where families could find high-quality products in an atmosphere that was as warm and welcoming, familiar yet perfect for discoveries. When she didn’t find it, she decided to transform this vision into reality.
Sophie’s dream for Trotters was for it to not only be a store, but a destination. A place where new experiences can be had, and childhood memories made. Since opening their first location, Sophie and the team have gone to great lengths to craft a genuine and unique experience. From specialised shoe fittings, to the iconic colourful Trotters Planes or Trains, children are not just shopping; they’re embarking on an adventure. The magic of these unique moments isn’t lost on parents either, who can share in the joy of their child’s excitement.
A very important cornerstone of the services offered by Trotters are specialised children’s hairdressing services. From first haircuts that include a certificate, lock of hair, special sticker, and gold chocolate coins, to special styling at the newest space in Harrods, children get their hair cut and styled in a space designed to keep them entertained. Beautiful fish tanks, brimming with curiosity and colourful fish, make it a unique space for all.
Trotters has five standalone stores in prestigious locations across London, as well as in Liberty and in Harrods, and has worldwide shipping via their UK and US websites. From everyday outfits, to those designed for the most special occasions, Trotters has become a household name for Londoners and a must-see destination for visitors.
Sophie’s vision and unwavering commitment to creating a unique and welcoming space for families has turned Trotters into an important success story; an inspiring reminder that, at its core, a successful business is about fostering a sense of joy and community, and building on the past, as we look ahead to the future.
