The Spiel:
Silky, swiss, smooth, and packed full of healthy stuff you need at breakfast. Takes tastes from Kheer (kind of Indian rice pudding). A sneaky vegan. Apples essential. Can be jazzed up with stewed fruit, dried fruit, fresh fruit, nuts or sweet dukkah.
The Way:
Ingredients:
4 parts fat oats
1 part seeds (chia, sunflower, pumpkin)
1 tin of creamy coconut milk
2 apples (grated)
1 part oat/coconut/nut milk, maple syrup, apple juice, nuts (optional)
Method:
Mix together and leave overnight to stoop. Loosen as you like with more liquid. Top with sweet dukkah*
(*Sweet dukkah = fennel seeds, desiccated coconut, sesame seeds, almonds, pistachios, dried cranberries, a bit of brown sugar).
The Twist:
Add grated fresh turmeric to show off, and turn it bright yellow (tastes good too).
The Buzz:
Tastes like a pudding. Behaves like a breakfast.
The Kill:
Consistency and colour can resemble slop. Let it out with juice. Dress it up nice.
The Kind of Dish...
Anyone can mess with.
